Neuro Empowerment Support Group

The UWL OT Neuro Empowerment Group is student led group designed to support individuals with a variety of neurological conditions, including but not limited to traumatic brain injury (TBI), spinal cord injury (SCI), stroke, Parkinson's disease, dementia, multiple sclerosis (MS), Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS), and vision impairments. Each session focuses on social engagement, meaningful activity participation, and empowerment in a supportive environment. Snacks will be provided at each session. Family and caregivers are welcome to attend.

Session Schedule:

  • February 9: 12:15-1:45 PM - Welcome session with introductions to group leaders and participants, social connection activities, snacks, and fun games. Facility Dog Rossi will be joining us.

  • February 16: 12:15-1:45 PM - Art exploration session including vision boards and painting activities, with snacks provided.

  • February 23: 12:15-1:45 PM - Adapted exercise session focused on safe and inclusive movement, with snacks provided.

  • March 2: 12:15-1:45 PM - Game day featuring a variety of group games, with snacks provided.

  • March 9: 12:15-1:45 PM - Wrap-up session including painting, a group choice activity, snacks, and another visit from Facility Dog Rossi.
