Civil Discourse Day

A student-led recognition event featuring the City of La Crosse proclamation, a keynote by Jeff Thompson, former CEO of Gundersen Health System, and reflections on the importance of civil discourse in our community.

Join us for a special Civil Discourse Day recognition event hosted by the students of UW-La Crosse in partnership with LeaderEthics. This 30-minute program will recognize the importance of civil discourse in our democracy and community life.

The event will include a welcome from Student Government President Emma Wittman, a reading of the City of La Crosse proclamation by City Council President Tamra Dickinson, a keynote message from Jeff Thompson, and reflections from students.

As public life continues to test our ability to listen, disagree with respect, and stay engaged across difference, this event offers a moment to reflect on the role civil discourse plays in strengthening community, leadership, and democratic practice.
