FSW: Engaging the Gray

Dialogue, Debate, Discourse, and Leadership

Join us for Engaging the Gray, a student-focused Free Speech Week skill-building session on dialogue, debate, discourse, and leadership.

Through small-group activity, scenario-based practice, and large-group reflection, students will explore how to engage complicated issues when there is disagreement, uncertainty, or no easy answer. Participants will practice asking better questions, listening for underlying concerns, and responding to disagreement with nuance, accountability, and care.

This event is free and open to all. Students do not need to hold a formal leadership role or attend earlier Free Speech Week events to participate. Light snacks, coffee, and tea will be provided.
