Book Club: Geeky Pedagogy

A Guide for Intellectuals, Introverts, and Nerds Who Want to Be Effective Teachers


You're invited to join a book club exploring Geeky Pedagogy: A Guide for Intellectuals, Introverts, and Nerds Who Want to Be Effective Teachers by Jessamyn Neuhaus, an evidence-based, pragmatic guide to learning and relearning how to be an effective college instructor. We’ll meet once before the fall semester begins to help you feel inspired and prepared to make meaningful, empowering tweaks to your courses. Whether you're looking to translate your scholarly expertise into authentic student learning, navigate the social dynamics of teaching as an introvert, or embrace your inner nerd to build classroom confidence, this book offers accessible frameworks you can apply right away. We'll discuss at the end of our first meeting if you'd like to meet again during CATL's Fall Mini-Conference, October 9!

The book is available for free in the CATL Little Free Library. Stop by the CATL office suite to grab your copy, while supplies last. The audiobook can also be accessed for free through you Universities of Wisconsin Libby account.
