Book Club: Classroom Assessment Techniques

Do you want to better understand what your students are learning, identify misconceptions before they become barriers, and make informed adjustments to your teaching throughout the semester? You are cordially invited to join a cross-disciplinary instructor reading group focused on Thomas A. Angelo and K. Patricia Cross’s Classroom Assessment Techniques: A Handbook for College Teachers. Pick up a free copy at WING 160! This reading group offers a space for us to explore practical, research-informed approaches to gathering meaningful feedback on student learning and using that feedback to enhance teaching effectiveness. The book provides a comprehensive collection of classroom assessment techniques, along with concrete examples and step-by-step guidance for implementing formative assessment strategies across disciplines. The reading group is designed as a meaningful but manageable commitment, with four sessions spaced across the semester to allow time for reading, discussion, experimentation, and reflection.
