Please read the policy updates below related to benefit premium prepays for 9-month faculty & staff.
To ensure benefit continuity over the summer months (while not on contract), 9 month faculty & staff who are paid over the course of the Academic Year prepay their premiums throughout this time. There have been some minor enhancements to this process:
- Benefit prepay deductions will start on the second paycheck in September instead of the first paycheck;
- The number of paycheck deductions over the course of an academic year will now be 17, instead of 18, which will cause a slight increase in amount of the deduction;
- Reconciliation of any discrepancy in amounts of the deduction will occur every payroll period, not on a longer basis as was the case before the policy revisions.
