Over the past several weeks, UWL Human Resources has been engaged in conversations with campus employees and stakeholders regarding the titles of Academic Department Associates, (ADAs). UWL Human Resources is now mapping ADAs to Administrative Assistant III.

Over the past several weeks, UWL Human Resources has been engaged in conversations with campus employees and stakeholders regarding the titles of Academic Department Associates, (ADAs). UWL Human Resources is now mapping ADAs to Administrative Assistant III.
As has been discussed with many of these stakeholders, UWL Human Resources received direction from UW System Human Resources that similarly titled employees who perform similar functions should retain the same titles throughout UW System. This direction was intended for consistency amongst the campuses. When UWL Human Resources evaluated how other UW System institutions were mapping their ADAs, it was nearly universal that the Administrative Assistant II title was chosen for this purpose.
Recently, many UW System institutions have deviated from this alignment. In reviewing their new alignments and based on conversations from campus stakeholders, UWL Human Resources is now mapping ADAs to Administrative Assistant III. You will see these changes updated in the online reporting tool for employees in the next few days.
