'Jeans Day' Friday, July 31

Jeans Day artwork.UWL is one of many local organizations that participates in “Jeans Day” each month and is sponsored by the La Crosse Tribune. In return for a $1 (suggested donation), UWL faculty and staff have the opportunity to wear jeans rather than usual business attire. Donations go to designated local, non-profit charities or organizations each month. The charities this month are The ARC of La Crosse (Association for Responsible Citizens) and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation La Crosse. Locate your building contact person on the list below, contribute the suggested $1, and collect a Jeans Day sticker. It is not necessary to wear jeans to participate. This is a great way to unite the campus in supporting local, non-profit organizations in the Greater La Crosse area. Let’s show the community how generous we can be. Building contacts:

Expansion of classroom lecture capture for fall 2015

Currently classroom lecture capture is available to all faculty and staff who teach in 1309 and 1400 Centennial, 102 Wimberly and 100 Cowley halls. ITS is expanding lecture capture capability by request to nearly any other classroom on campus. With the introduction last fall of the MyMedia Desktop Recorder, instructors have found success in using this new capture method in their classrooms. This tool can be used to create a library of recordings, which provides an additional resource to facilitate teaching and enhance student learning. If you are interested in bringing lecture capture to your classroom this fall, contact the Eagle Help Desk or Terry Wirkus at twirkus@uwlax.edu. Campus Kudos artwork.
