As a show of appreciation for local health care workers, UWL is collecting donations and thank-you notes for staff at Gundersen and Mayo.

UWL collecting gifts, thank-you notes through Friday, Feb. 4

Campus community members can help say "thank you" to the many dedicated healthcare workers at Gundersen and Mayo who have been caring for patients throughout the pandemic.

In appreciation of their work, UWL is preparing gift baskets to be deliverd to workers at both health systems.

Donations of small gifts (roughly $5 or less in value) such as individual hot cocoa packs, microwave popcorn, $5 gift cards, socks, candy bars, coffee mugs, knit scarves, card decks, games and puzzles are being collected through Friday, Feb. 4.

Handwritten thank-you notes are espeicially welcome and have the greatest impact on staff, liasions say. (A limited number of blank note cards will be available at the Student Union Information Desk, but feel free to make your own.)

Donations can be left at the following locations:

  • Student Union Information Desk
  • Cleary Alumni & Friends Center
  • Provost’s Office (227 Graff Main Hall).

Friends and community members are also welcome to participate.
