The UW-La Crosse Screaming Eagles Marching Band will hold its Review Concert at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, in Mitchell Hall. Admission is free.
The concert is a synopsis of the band’s season, which began Aug. 18. Since then, the band has given 14 performances. In addition to performing at football games, the Screaming Eagles participate in community events like Gundersen’s “Steppin’ Out in Pink,” Oktoberfest and exhibitions at high school band competitions in Wisconsin and Minnesota.
The concert will highlight musical selections from halftime shows featuring Latin Jazz and Journey. The Latin Jazz includes “La Suerta de los Tontos,” “The Land of Make Believe” and “Malaguena.” The Journey selections include “Anyway You Want It,” “Separate Ways” and a mash-up of “Don’t Stop Believin” and “Be Good to Yourself.”
Music from pre-game performances, the stands, and other pop hits will complete the concert repertoire. The concert will feature the student leadership that serves as the foundation of the student organization. All musical selections will be conducted by student Drum Majors Ally Wolf, Ryan Whaley and Martha Nedeau-Owen.
The band’s drum line is led by Percussion Coach Anthony Mottaz who writes the percussion music. The color guard, led by Courtney Johnson and Sarah Fischer, and the Dance Team, led by Danielle Spahn and Emma Werner, will also be featured on many selections.
