UWL supports small businesses

Posted 10:57 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021

La Crosse is fortunate to have a vast and vibrant business community — with stores, restaurants, events and activities that will appeal to students and families of all interests.

Shopping locally even more important amid COVID-19

At UW-La Crosse, one of our core objectives is promoting the growth and wellbeing of our broader community.

With many local business owners struggling amid COVID-19, we are reminded of the importance of supporting small businesses and investing in the local economy.

La Crosse is fortunate to have a vast and vibrant business community — with stores, restaurants, events and activities that will appeal to students and families of all interests.

With a Downtown Discount Card, students can get special deals on artwork at the Pump House Regional Arts Center, games at the La Crosse Escape Room, sessions at The Yoga Place and much more.

But supporting local businesses doesn’t have to mean going out. Many businesses offer delivery, curbside pickup and virtual activities. And if COVID-19 has left you out of the loop, you can get the latest news from the comfort of your couch with a discounted subscription to the La Crosse Tribune.

Below, you’ll find more information about how you can support local businesses. We hope you’ll do so safely and responsibly.
