A UW-La Crosse weekend event aims to bring together gamers from across the region.
“Coulee Con” will run Friday, Sept. 11, through Sunday, Sept. 13, in Cartwright Center. The convention is being put on by the UWL Tabletop Gaming Club in partnership with local gaming organizations. Organizers hope it will become an annual event.
The weekend will bring together several gaming genres including board games, collectible card games, role-playing games and tabletop miniatures. The main hall, Valhalla, will feature tournaments, a games library, a silent auction, a raffle, vendors and an artist alley. Additionally, demonstrations of two live action role-play systems will take place in Lindner Forest on campus during Friday and Saturday.
Two local gaming businesses, River City Hobbies and Apex Hobby Shop, will sponsor gaming halls in Cartwright Center with a variety of events. In addition to preplanned events, attendees are encouraged to bring their own games to play at open tables in all venues.
