The UW-La Crosse Orchestra will hold its first concert of the fall semester featuring flute soloist and cellist.
The UW-La Crosse Orchestra will hold its first concert of the fall semester at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, at the Viterbo Fine Arts Center. Admission is free, but non-perishable food items for local food pantries will be accepted.
The Orchestra will perform a program of varied music featuring Dr. Jonathan Borja, flute soloist who is a UWL faculty member, and student cellist Kelly Voegele. Assistant Professor of Music Thomas Seddon is the director of the UWL Orchestra.
The selections being performed include: “Night on Bald Mountain” by Moussorgsky; “Elegie for Cello and Orchestra, op. 24” by Faure; “Suite No. 1” by Stravinsky; “Concertino for Flute and Orchestra, op. 107” by Chaminade; and the “English Folk Song Suite” by Vaughan-Williams.
