Lauren Zuniga, three time national poetry slam finalist, will bare her soul at UW-La Crosse.
She will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, in Port O' Call, Cartwright Center-Gunning Addition.
Zuniga, an Oklahoma native, is not just a slam poet. She is also a passionate activist. Her poem, “To The Oklahoma Lawmakers,” became an Internet sensation when it was featured on Moveon.org, where she was called one of the strongest defending voices in the “War on Women.” Considered one of the top female poets touring today, Zuniga has published two poetry collections: “The Nickel Tour” (2009) and “The Smell of Good Mud” (2012).
