Two pictorial books illustrating historical La Crosse have been published within the last two years, titled “La Crosse Memories: The Early Years” and “La Crosse Memories II: The 1940s, 1950s and 1960s.” A collaborative effort among the La Crosse Tribune, Murphy Library and the La Crosse Public Library, the books highlight hundreds of selected images of historic La Crosse. Both collections are $44.95 each.
The third book, created by Special Collections Historian Laura Godden and Special Collections Librarian Paul Beck, includes a collection of historical postcards that together showcase historic La Crosse. The collection, “La Crosse,” illustrates the city’s history of work, parks and daily life through five chapters of postcards. It can be purchased for $26.99.
Purchase all three books at Murphy Library or by contacting Murphy Library’s Administrative Office at 608.785.8505 or libraryoffice@uwlax.edu.
