Students looking to find part-time work or internships over the summer can use UW-L Career Services Eagle Opportunities.
By UW-L Student Intern Bree Levine
As the semester comes to a close, many students are looking to find part-time work or internships over the summer. This is why UW-L’s Career Services developed Eagle Opportunities.
Eagle Opportunities is a job search and career management system for UW-L students. All students have access, and they can use it to search for part-time jobs, summer jobs, internships and post-graduation jobs. It has additional tools as well, including an interview practice system and a worldwide job search.
“In the past year, over 10,000 internships and jobs were posted in Eagle Opportunities,” says Interim Director of Career Services Tim Tritch. “Positions posted in Eagle Opportunities are constantly changing, with new positions added each day and old positions automatically deactivated.”
Career Services sponsors a career fair twice a year. Students can use Eagle Opportunities to help them stand out. Students can see information about employers who are registered to attend the fairs and view the jobs and internships they have available. They can also upload a resume to Eagle Opportunities, and registered employers can view the resumes.
To access Eagle Opportunities, students can go to the Career Services homepage and click on the Eagle Opportunities student log in link. The username is the student’s campus ID number, and the default password is the last four digits of the ID number. Students can change the password after logging into the system.
Career Services encourages anyone with questions about finding an internship or job to make an appointment. They can help students with resume or cover letter writing, interviewing or other career-related concerns.
To make an appointment, call 608.785.8514 or visit Career Services in 1140 Centennial Hall.
