Campus Connection

The Western Wisconsin Educator's Conference will be from 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at the La Crosse Center, 300 Harborview Plaza, La Crosse. The target audience is PK-12 teachers, but many sessions will be of interest to university instructors and education students as well. Several UWL professors and staff will share information on the following topics:

• Anti-bullying (Lori Reichel)
• Helping traumatized students (Betty DoBoer)
• Video-based modeling & ASD (Lema Kabashi)
• Interactive math programs (Matthew Chedister)
• Strengths-based education (Leslie Rogers)
• Spoken word poetry (Roi Kawai)
• Critical literacy (Jim Carlson)
• Environment as the third teacher (Dawn Rouse)
• Tools for Teaching Beginning Computer Science (Josh Hertel)
• Healthy teachers and healthy students (Brian Udermann)
• Methods to improve English Language Learner instruction (Kenneth Shonk, Jr.)
• Caring classroom communities (Sheila Wirkus)
