Group to perform at College Band Directors National Association meeting in Michigan
The UW-La Crosse Wind Ensemble will make an encore performance at a major regional conference.
The ensemble has been invited to play at the College Band Directors National Association - North Central Regional Conference at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. They perform at 3:45 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, in Miller Auditorium. The ensemble was one of six bands accepted from across the 10-state region stretching from Ohio to Nebraska and north to Canada. In 2016 the ensemble performed at its first CBDNA-NC Regional Conference.
“We are honored to be performing again in 2018 for the CBDNA-NC conference,” says Associate Professor Thomas Seddon, conductor of the ensemble since 2011.The Wind Ensemble is an auditioned group that performs top traditional and contemporary band literature.
The UWL Wind Ensemble has a history of invitations to prestigious performances. In addition to the 2016 North Center Regional Conference performance, the ensemble performed at the 2013 National Band Association Wisconsin Conference. At the National CBDNA conference in 2017 the group had a recording performed for the Small Program Showcase.
