The UW-La Crosse Symphony Orchestra will present its first concert of the 2014 spring semester at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at Christ Episcopal Church, 9th and Main streets in La Crosse. Admission is free.
The orchestra, conducted by Thomas Seddon, will feature David Phipps on violin performing Beethoven’s “Romanza.” The concert will also include Bellini's “Overture to 'Norma',” Borodin's “The Steppes of Central Asia” and Mozart's “25th Symphony.”
The orchestra is the main ensemble in the university’s orchestral program. The group performs up to six concerts a year, including tours in the Midwest and abroad.
