Six former UW-L student-athletes and a longtime employee will be inducted into the university’s Wall of Fame.
Six former University of Wisconsin-La Crosse student-athletes and a longtime employee will be inducted into the university’s Wall of Fame.
The six alumni being inducted, the sports in which they participated and their years as a UW-L athlete include:
• Kari (Motz) DeLong, Gymnastics, 1996-2000
• Doreen Ludlow-Groshan, Cross Country and Track, 1981-85
• Mike Maslowski, Football, 1993-96
• Drew Peterson, Diving, 1990-92
• Jodi Smiley, Volleyball, Badminton and Track, 1981-84 (not pictured)
• Richard “Dick” W. Trickel, Cross Country and Track, 1958-62
The Sandy Gordon Merit Award will be given to Joseph F. Bolwahn, who worked in the physical education and athletics equipment room from 1973-2007.
The Wall of Fame pays tribute to former athletes and coaches for their exceptional ability and enhancement of school tradition. The Gordon Merit Award recognizes long-time supporters of UW-L athletics.
This year’s inductees will be honored during a brunch at 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, in the Cleary Alumni & Friends Center. Tickets are $20. Reservations are due noon Wednesday, Oct. 12, at the UW-L Alumni Office, 608.785.8490.
