[/caption]Join UW-L TRIO programs at the 30-year-anniversary celebration from 3-5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21, in the Ward Room, Cartwright Center. A short program begins at 3:30 p.m. highlighting the TRIO program.
UW-L has three federally-funded educational opportunity programs under the TRIO banner: Upward Bound, Student Support Services (SSS), and the McNair Scholars program.
Upward Bound (in 176 Murphy Library Addition) has been housed on campus since 1979. Each year, Upward Bound provides programming and academic support to prepare 85 students from eight area high schools for college success.
Student Support Services (270 Murphy Resource Center), on campus since 1978, provides advising, tutoring and workshops to eligible UW-L students. It serves 350 students annually.
The McNair Scholars program (106 Graff Main Hall), on campus since October 2009, prepares students for graduate school, with the ultimate goal of increasing diversity among those with doctorate degrees.
