UW-L is a 2014 drop-site for Ridgeland Harvest and Small Family CSA farms.

FarmFresh artwork UW-L is a 2014 drop-site for Ridgeland Harvest and Small Family CSA farms. Consider joining and taking home a box of fresh produce every week or every other week from June through October. Dollars spent stay in the local economy and go directly to support a small family farm. Each farm is unique and offers its own share options, farm events and payment structures. Other advantages of belonging to a CSA, include:
  • Getting to know your farmer and your food.
  • Eating fresh, nutrient-dense certified organic products.
  • Enjoying better health.
  • Learning about new vegetables.
  • Receiving new recipes.
  • Visiting farms and attending farm events.
  • Picking up your share at a designated drop-site on campus
To help with weekly food preparation, CSAs include a newsletter with "what's in your box" as well as recipes on how to prepare the food. For a limited time participants can purchase "From Asparagus to Zucchini: A Guide to Cooking Farm-Fresh Seasonal Produce" for $12 or "Farm-Fresh and Fast: Easy Recipes and Tips for Making the Most of Fresh, Seasonal Foods" for $15. These discounted prices are offered through the Fairshare Coalition to encourage participation. To purchase these cookbooks or for a simple cookbook with additional recipes and information, contact Deanna Kabliska 608.785.8601 or dkabliska@uwlax.edu. Members of the Health Traditions Health Plan can get a $100 rebate as CSA members. The Eat Well rebate gives CSA members $100 back on the baskets of fresh produce shares purchased through a CSA. Find out more on CSAs at CSA. Find more at the two CSA websites www.ridgelandharvest.com/ and www.smallfamilycsa.com/. For more info about UW-L options, contact dkabliska@uwlax.edu.
