Spring blooms, community partnerships and the home stretch of the spring semester. Take a look at some of our favorite photos from April at UWL.





Geography students led by Associate Professor Niti Mishra used a drone to conduct aerial surveying for Mathy Construction Company. This mutually beneficial partnership allowed UWL students to gain real-world experience, while providing Mathy with information to assist their business.


Anne Moratto, '86, director of brand content strategy for MODERN SALON and NAILS, shared her expertise with students as part of the College of Business Administration's Benson Friday Lecture Series.
During Social Justice Week, campus and community members came together to listen and discuss ways to create a more inclusive and equitable future.


Students in Arthur Grupe's Medical Mycology course are experimenting with fungi in hopes of identifying antibacterial and antifungal properties that may be useful in treating human infections. It's a project inspired by the accidental discovery of penicillin by Scottish physician Alexander Fleming.

UWL's 60th annual International Banquet featured performances by local musicians and dancers, as well as food from around the world.

Led by Assistant Professor Naghmeh Gheidi, UWL students are conducting research aimed at finding new interventions for chronic conditions such as pain, pelvic floor dysfunction and Parkinson's disease.

Students in Kimberly Morris' Spanish 443 course explored how technology, including virtual reality headsets, can be used to enhance language learning.


Reilly Eiynck was selected to receive the 2025 Murphy Award for Academic Excellence, given each spring to UWL's top graduating senior. Eiynck has been conducting electrochemistry research with Associate Professor Sujat Sen — an experience that has prepared her for graduate school and beyond, she says.

UWL's Diverse-OT student organization collaborated with local accessibility advocates Jeff and Jeannie Nylander to host a "Dining in the Dark" exercise designed to show students what it is like for someone who is visually impaired to navigate daily activities.
