Stand-up comedian Drew Lynch will share his comedic talent at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, in the Cellar, Cartwright Center. His routine reveals how comedy can come from tragedy.
Lynch grew up in Las Vegas with dreams of becoming a film actor. He graduated from the Las Vegas Academy of Performing Arts, well-known for being a “chatterbox.” However, a year ago at a company softball game, Lynch was hit in the throat with a softball, paralyzing his vocal chords and causing his once fluid speech to turn into a stutter. He was inspired to turn this life-changing injury into something positive and found a new mission in life: to make people laugh.
Now, Lynch is on the road performing at comedy clubs and colleges throughout the U.S. Admission is free. For more information, call the Cartwright Information Counter at 608.785.8898. This event is part of the university’s Campus Activities Board Series.
