This week 50 students in a senior capstone course launched Project You, which aims to inform and provide resources to high school students and their parents about physical and mental health, self esteem, body image and cyber safety. UW-L students gave presentations to students in health classes at Logan and Central high schools about self awareness, respecting themselves and others. This Saturday, April 25, they’ll wrap up with an event with games focused on safety and self esteem open to all local high school students from 6-9 p.m. at Crossfire. The event includes a scavenger hunt, cyber-safety bingo, music and a hypnotist who specializes in working with youth on self-esteem in a fun and educational way. The event includes free pizza and drink. Crossfire donated the space. Students collected donations for the event and also promoted it via local media.
