UWL’s 22nd Annual Turkey Trot Nov. 19 makes a healthier you
Looking to incorporate fitness and fun into the holiday season? Join the annual Turkey Trot at UW-La Crosse.
More than 1,000 runners and walkers are anticipated to take part in the UWL Recreational Sports Department’s 22nd Annual Turkey Trot Saturday, Nov. 19. The event is made possible through more than 100 UWL student volunteers who serve as course marshals, prepare and take down the course, register participants, direct runners and walkers and more.
UWL student Krissy Klingbeil, who volunteered in 2015, calls it “a blast,” and a family-friendly event that draws families and community members from across the city.
“It has a great energy, and last year I think everyone I saw was having a good time,” says Kingbeil. “Volunteers are needed in every big event, and I really like to be a part of such a great thing.”
Proceeds from the event benefit WisCorps, UWL multicultural student scholarships and UWL’s Recreational Sports Department. Event sponsors include Subway and Z93.
