UWL-USGS Joint River Seminar Series

The UWL-USGS Joint River Seminar Series is back! We will be having our first seminar event on Tuesday, October 14 from 2:30-3:30 pm at the UWL Student Union Theatre. The UWL Freshwater Ecology and Management Club is organizing the monthly events and the River Studies Center is providing free refreshments (cookies, etc.).

This event’s speakers will be Dr. Bonnie Bratina, Associate Professor of Microbiology at UWL discussing her research on the Myrick Marsh. Lee Hendrix, an author and former MS River boat captain, will tell stories about his experiences on the river. His work is published in a new book which he will be signing and selling after the talk. For those that cannot attend in person, we will be sending out a Zoom webinar link before the event.

Instructors: Please considering offering extra credit for students that attend these seminars. A flyer is attached for you to share.
