Sharing Spanish Posted 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, 2020 UWL students teach local health volunteers foreign language, culture. Read more about Sharing Spanish Kaley Heiman, a UWL senior Spanish minor and biology major, says the hard work of learning a language is paying off. She has been able to share her knowledge with others through a language conversation partnership between UWL and Gundersen Health System while meeting a professional in her field. Heiman starts physician assistant school in May at Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

Read more about Conversing for a cause UWL senior Kaley Heiman, left, a pre-physician assistant and biology major with a Spanish minor who plans to graduate in May, works as a conversation partner with Gundersen Health System’s Nurse Educator Stephanie Grove. The sessions offer an opportunity for health providers to improve their Spanish by conversing on a one-on-one basis with an advanced, Spanish-speaking student who plans to work in the medical field.
