A campus in bloom. A solar eclipse. And a semester entering the final stretch.

Jonathan Locust, founder and CEO of Locust Group consulting firm, spoke to campus as part of Social Justice Week. The three-day event aimed to spark conversation and inspire realistic goal-setting to make positive change in the community.

UWL students joined millions across the country in viewing solar eclipse on April 8. The eclipse could be seen at 85% totality in La Crosse – if you were lucky enough to catch a break in the clouds.

UWL alumnus Benjamin Horn is the owner and operator of Free Range Exchange. The business functions as a coffee shop, cafe, bakery and miniature farmer's market — with locations in La Crosse and Hokah, Minnesota.

Sometimes in academia, you have to get your hands dirty.
Lucy Suek, student coordinator of fitness at the Recreational Eagle Center, was named UWL's Student Employee of the Year for 2024. "I love my job," Suek says. "Everyone is here to lift each other up.”

UWL alumna Shelmina Abji visited campus to discuss ways to "Jumpstart Your Career Success." Abji, former vice president of IBM Corporation, is the author of “Show Your Worth: 8 Intentional Strategies for Women to Emerge as Leaders at Work.”
Burning some energy — and analyzing data — at the La Crosse Institute for Movement Science. The project was a collaboration led by Professor of Health Professions Tom Kernozek and Assistant Professor of Exercise & Sport Science Ward Dobbs.
UWL leadership welcomed officials from the Turkish Consulate General's newly established Educational Attaché Office to make connections and discuss future partnership opportunities.
As you give it your all over the next two weeks, don't forget to stop and smell the flowers. You've got this, Eagles!
