UWL's Ellie Baudry builds creativity, community through COVE design role

When Ellie Baudry set out to find a job on campus, she wanted to do more than collect a paycheck.

She wanted to grow.

That is exactly what she has done as a graphic designer for UWL's Center for Organizations, Vision & Engagement (COVE), where she creates logos, posters, social media posts and other promotional materials for the university’s many student organizations.

It’s a role that has allowed Baudry, a marketing major, to hone her design skills, build meaningful relationships with peers and mentors, and make a tangible impact on campus.

“I knew coming into college that I needed a supportive community to help me thrive ... and I found it here," she says. “I come to work excited every day, feeling appreciated for the work I do, and I truly love being part of the team. Through my role, I am not only developing my professional skills but also genuinely enjoying the experience. The culture of the COVE is rooted in a people-first mindset, and you can feel that in every interaction with any student or professional staff.”

Baudry carries her work ethic and enthusiasm into all she does.

She has made the dean’s list in each of her semesters at UWL, and this year, she was named president of the Women in Business Club — one of the fast-growing student organizations on campus.

Driven to lead and inspired to create, Baudry looks forward to pursuing a career in business. And she believes her experiences at UWL will help get her there.

“Through my role at the COVE, I’ve gained hands-on experience in customer service, problem-solving, adaptability and professional communication,” she says. “Additionally, balancing academics, Women in Business and work has strengthened my time management skills and taught me how to prioritize effectively, helping me grow into a well-rounded individual.”
