Why did you join the UWL Alumni Association?
I joined for several reasons including having an opportunity to reconnect with my hometown university, promote its strong national reputation for building talented graduates, and contribute to the future of the UWL Experience. I'm proud to be an alumnus professionally, and along with my wife, Jodi (Lovrek), ’99, we are both personally excited to relive a little of that experience through our daughter who is enrolled starting this fall.
Why is it important to support an organization like the UWL Alumni Association?
Over the past few years, I've felt a growing sense of gratitude and appreciation for the impact UWL has had on my life. I feel indebted having never really given enough back to a university and faculty who did so much for me. I'm looking forward to being an active alumni supporter, encouraging others to join and making up for lost time.
What are the association benefits you enjoy the most?
The Lantern magazine is great! Also, finding local alumni events in Virginia and plenty of reasons to come back to La Crosse to visit (Barrels & Bites, Golf outings, etc.)
