Non-professional artists from throughout the region will show their artwork June 13-21 at UW-L.

Non-professional artists from throughout the region will show their artwork at UW-L. The Wisconsin Regional Art Program (WRAP) will hold its spring 2014 exhibit in the University Art Gallery June 13-21.
Each year WRAP hangs an exhibit showcasing award-winning artists from its programs throughout Wisconsin. About 200 artists from around the state display their art for about a month. Award winning entries from this exhibition will move on to the annual exhibition in Madison. This year’s guest juror is UW-Marathon County Professor Diana Budde.
WRAP began in 1940 with John Stueuart Curry as the guiding director. The program consists of regional artist workshop and exhibits held throughout the year. The purpose of WRAP is to encourage non-professional artists to develop their abilities.
University Gallery hours are 11 a.m.-3 p.m. The gallery is located in the Center for the Arts, 16th and Vine streets. An artist and awards reception runs from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, June 21. A related workshop, “To plan or not to plan,” will be presented by Ellen Roles from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, June 21, in 116 Center for the Arts.
The exhibit and events are free and open to the public.
