Deadline to order printing with FY11 monies is May 13
The last day departments can submit printing purchase order requests using FY11 monies is Friday, May 13. The process of placing print orders through state contracts requires extra time. Those who need artwork designed should contact the Publications Office at 785.8575 or 785.8499 immediately. After May 13, printing requests will be held for processing until July 1. However, the Publications Office is available in June to design projects for the upcoming fiscal year. The Heating Plant will be shut down for scheduled maintenance and repairs beginning 6 p.m. Saturday, May 14, until 10 p.m. Sunday, May 22. During the shutdown there will be no steam distribution services available to campus buildings. Cage washers, autoclaves and other steam supplied equipment will be affected. Bring up to 100 lbs (about two large trash bags) of paper items and watch them get shredded for free from 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 21, at the Altra Federal Credit Union, 2715 Losey Blvd. S. Paper and file folders can be shredded with no need to remove staples, rubber bands or paper clips. Food items, three-ring binders, plastic or foam packing materials are not allowed. This year, in addition to the free on-site shredding, La Crosse Area Crime Stoppers will be available to answer questions, and Gundersen Lutheran Safe Kids program will be on-site doing child safety car seat checks. Kids Culinary Academy on campus in July
At Kids Culinary Academy, executive chefs and registered dietician inspire students entering sixth through eighth grades six through to create tasty delights, sumptuous delicacies and extraordinary dishes. While learning food preparation skills is the main ingredient at the Culinary Academy, each session adds a heap of kitchen safety, a scoop of etiquette, a handful of table setting, a pinch of menu planning, and laughter to taste. Students' final culminating activity is a dinner prepared for their families. At Kids Culinary Academy, imaginations are free to run wild as kids discover math, reading, health, time management, food chemistry and social skills through our hands-on cooking camp. Kids Culinary Academy offers two sessions in the Ward Room, Cartwright Center. Choose from either 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, July 19-20, or July 26-27. A $140-fee includes diploma, personalized apron, chef hat, lunches, snacks and dinner for four individuals. Additional dinner guests are welcome at $10 per person.
