UW-L’s Swinging Yuletide will feature an upbeat performance of big band and vocal jazz holiday favorites Dec. 6.
UW-L’s Swinging Yuletide will feature an upbeat performance of big band and vocal jazz holiday favorites. The La Crosse Jazz Orchestra, UW-L Jazz Ensembles, and the LaX Jazz4tet will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, in Valhalla, Cartwright Center-Gunning Addition.
Selections to be performed include: “Santa Baby” with vocalist Cathy Reitz, “Zat You Santa?” with drummer/singer Tim Henke, a tune from Duke Ellington’s “Nutcracker” and more.
Tickets are $5 for students, $10 for others and $20 for reserved seating. There is limited cabaret table seating. Reservations are recommended — the concert typically sells out. Proceeds will support music scholarships for UW-L jazz students. For reservations or tickets, call the Music Department at 608.785.8415.
