2025 Pay Plan

On Monday, August 18 that Chancellor Beeby shared a communication with UW-La Crosse employees from President Rothman and Governor Evers about 2025 pay plan salary increases. This message provides additional information about pay plan implementation.

Implementation

Pay plan will be effective and implemented on August 25, 2025 for eligible 9-month employees. The salary increase will appear on September 4, 2025 pay checks.

Pay plan will be effective on June 29, 2025 for eligible 12-month employees. It will be implemented on August 10, 2025. The salary increase will appear on September 4, 2025 pay checks. Eligible 12-month employees will receive a lump sum payment on September 4 for the period June 29 through August 9.

Eligibility

The following UWL employees are eligible for 2025 pay plan salary increases.

  1. 12-month employees who are employed, or promoted, on or before June 29, 2025 and employed on August 10, 2025.
  2. 9-month employees who are employed, or promoted, on August 25, 2025.
  3. Meets expectations or meritorious performers as defined in UWL HR Pay Plan Policy. Employees’ most recent (within 12 months) performance evaluation (as defined by the Division/College/School) or their supervisor must otherwise be able to demonstrate that the employee meets performance expectations.
  4. In a full-time or part-time budgeted (Redbooked) position for:
    • Faculty
    • Instructional Academic Staff
    • Non-instructional Academic Staff
    • University Staff
    • Project Staff

Ineligibility

The following UWL employees are not eligible for 2025 pay plan salary increases.

  1. Employees with a performance appraisal rating of “Below Expectations”, “Unsatisfactory”, or “Not Meritorious”.
  2. Employees on a performance improvement, or remediation, plan.
  3. Employees found to have committed policy violations within three (3) months prior to the effective date of the pay plan salary increase, or who are currently under investigation for possible policy violations at the time of the pay plan. 
  4. Employees who are required to complete the Outside Activity Reporting process as per UW System Administrative Policy 1290, but fail to do so.
  5. Employees who are required to complete training of Preventing Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment as per Regent Policy Document 14-2 and Information Security Awareness as per UW System Administrative Policy 1032, but fail to do so.
  6. Employee may be paid above the maximum of a salary range per UW System HR Policy: 1278 Compensation.
  7. Employees in the following employee groups:
    • Limited-term
    • Ad hoc employees
    • Research Interns
    • Interim, acting appointments, or employees with a temporary base adjustment
    • Student Hourly Staff and Graduate Assistants
    • Employees in training
    • Seasonal Employees
    • Temporary Employees
    • Employees covered by collective bargaining agreements
