A woman who is considered a leader in both the animal welfare and autism advocacy movements will speak at UW-L.
Temple Grandin will speak at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, in Valhalla, Cartwright Center-Gunning Addition.
Grandin is a professional designer of humane livestock facilities. She designed the “center track restrainer system” that handles almost half of North American cattle. Grandin also has Asperger’s Syndrome and for the first four years of her life showed no signs of academic or social development.
Grandin’s talk is part of the Campus Activities Board Series. Tickets in advance are: $3 for UW-L students and $5 for others. Tickets the day of the talk are: $6 for UW-L students and $10 for others.
