Beekeeper Buzz

Presenter: Ken Balts, Secretary of the La Crosse Area Beekeepers 

Ken was born three quarters of a century ago and raised on a farm. He received a hive of honeybees when he was 8 years and has been interested in them ever since. Ken earned a B.S. from UW-Eau Claire, and an M.S. from Oklahoma State University. He was employed at Western Technical College from 1973-2003 and has been retired ever since. He has been a member of the La Crosse Area Beekeepers since 1982. Ken will present on the “Wonders of the Honeybee” which will include information about the life cycle of the honeybee; facts and trivia; uses of beeswax; colors of pollen.
