Community-based Teaching and Learning Project Proposals DUE

The Center for Advancing Teaching & Learning is seeking a UWL instructor in fall 2018 to work on a project to enhance community-based teaching and learning at UWL. The individual will receive a stipend of $2000 for approximately 45 hours of work during the fall semester. 

Work will focus on development of resources and opportunities to help instructors learn about and implement practices that support community-based learning and engagement in their courses and programs. Depending upon campus priorities and the applicant's interests and expertise, work may involve one or more of the following: 

  • Provide examples of effective community-based learning strategies through workshops and/or panel sessions. 
  • Identify resources and materials to help instructors implement community-based learning. 
  • Identify guidelines and materials to help students understand the purposes and processes of community-based learning.
  • Meet as needed with CATL staff members and members of the Campus Engagement Committee.

Qualifications:

  • Full-time UWL instructor in any discipline.
  • Experience using community-based learning in teaching.
  • Experience working with faculty on teaching and learning projects (preferred).
  • Familiarity with research on community-based learning in higher education (preferred).
