Practical approaches to healthy living: now more than ever

The Great Protective Factor: Sleep Enhancement

The Great Protective Factor: Sleep Enhancement
Ryan A. McKelley, Ph.D.
10 a.m.–12:30 p.m. Workshop
12:30 p.m. Healthful Lunch: Celebrate your achievements.

In a culture that tends to celebrate over-commitment, sleep is often the health behavior most likely to be compromised in attempts to balance the demands of school/work and home. Inadequate sleep has been linked to higher obesity, depression, irritability, memory problems and lower attention, immune functioning, plus overall wellbeing. Healthy sleep is not something to put off until later—it is one of the most important behaviors we can and should improve today. Rejuvenate your body through restful sleep!
