Jazz it up with the UW-L Jazz Orchestra and Jazz Ensemble!

Faculty Guest Artist and a World Premiere Highlight the UWL Jazz Big Bands Spring Concert

The UWL Jazz Orchestra and Jazz Ensemble will perform a joint concert of big band pieces that range from classic swing and big band vocals to contemporary funk and Latin charts. The UWL Jazz Orchestra will perform with special guest artist UWL faculty flutist Dr. Jonathan Borja on “Bossa Merengova” from Mike Mower’s Sonata Latino. The group will also play the world premiere of “No Wiser than Before,” a funk chart by recent UWL graduate Luke Thering. The talented vocalists Cassandra Quinn and Mike Meyers will also perform with the groups, singing songs from the Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, and Gordon Goodwin libraries.

The event is free and open to the public!
