Banned Books Week with Murphy Library

P.S. Let's Talk: Animal Farm

In partnership between UW-La Crosse Murphy Library, the La Crosse Public Library and the The Pump House, P.S. Let’s Talk is a 10-part series designed as a “page to stage” experience of listening to performers read from a play on topics of concern.

To Celebrate Banned Books Week, on Tuesday, September 24 from 7-9 p.m. at The Pump House (119 King St.), participants will listen to “Animal Farm,” a play adapted from the allegorical novella by George Orwell. The reading will be followed by a moderated talk-back with play director Barry McKnight and Dr. Cindy Killion, retired from Winona State University. The event gives the audience a chance to participate in a thought-provoking and approachable community conversation about what it means to have power, and the connection between happiness and equality.

This event is open to the public and free of charge.
