An Introduction to Restorative Justice at UWL

(Workshop part of the Diversity and Inclusion Certificates Program)

According to the Centre for Justice & Reconciliation, "Restorative justice is a theory of justice that emphasizes repairing the harm caused by criminal behaviour. It is best accomplished through cooperative processes that include all stakeholders. This can lead to transformation of people, relationships and communities." The process has been adapted for use outside the criminal justice system to address conflict in many arenas. This session will focus on the principles and concepts of Restorative Justice.

You are invited to watch "Burning Bridge" (35 min) to see an example of how the process works to change how we think about "justice" and problem-solving.

Equity Liaisons are particularly invited, along with others who would like to consider where UWL goes with this initiative. Space is limited; please register here.
(Note: Shortly after you register, you will receive a calendar invitation from CATL.)
