City Year is an education-focused, nonprofit organization that unites diverse young leaders for a year of full-time service to make a difference in the lives of children by working to close the achievement gap in low performing schools in 28 U.S. locations. Every year over 3,000 young people join City Year and dedicate 11 months to make a lasting impact on students and communities across the country. #makebetterhappen

Peace Corps

The Peace Corps two-year program is often called life-defining by the more than 220,000 Americans who have served. Get the chance to fully integrate into a host country community, where you will live and work on projects ranging from education to business development. Volunteers work in Education, Health, Community Economic Development (Business), Environment, Agriculture and Youth Development. The Peace Corps provides each Volunteer with housing, a living stipend, and full medical and dental care. There is no charge to participate in the Peace Corps.

WisCorps, Inc. is a nonprofit organization located in La Crosse. Founded in 2009, our mission is to develop leadership, self-confidence, and a strong work ethic in youth and young adults through the active stewardship of Wisconsin’s communities and natural resources. Our goal is to conserve and educate about Wisconsin's and the Midwest's unique natural resources. We do this by completing conservation projects through our Conservation Corps and providing Environmental Education programs to the greater La Crosse Community.
