Route Setting Fun & Fundamentals

Learn to set effective climbing routes that appeal to all

Want to learn what goes into setting a climbing route? Become a certified UWL Climbing Wall setter and show your creativity at the wall!

This orientation is a mandatory clinic for all climbers wanting to set climbing problems at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Recreation Eagle Center (REC) Climbing Wall. The course will cover the basic procedures of setting including, but not limited to, hold and bolt selection, taping, route identification cards, etc. Following the course, you will be invited to set whenever a staff member is available to supervise the wall.
