Data Visualization and Management Tools for Trane Assists

By: Mike Weisse

Abstract: Trane Select Assist (TSA) is a web-based tool that allows customers to customize heating, ventilation, and air conditioning  products according to their personal needs. This presentation describes the development of three internal tools on the TSA admin website that aim to assist the TSA development team in maintaining and improving the TSA tool.  The first tool calculates the average time TSA users are taking to configure certain units over a period of time and generates a visual representation of that data.  The second tool generates tables that reflect the permissions for products and user roles as the are stored in the TSA databases.  These tables can be directly edited and all changes made to the tables will be reflected in the database. The final tool analyzes data before server crashes and identifies the most probable cause of these crashes.
