Bryan consults with faculty, programs, and departments on ways to improve student learning through program planning, faculty development, course/curriculum redesign, and UWL-funded teaching and learning grant applications.  Specifically, he can assist with:

  • making evidence-based improvements in teaching, drawing from the science of learning
  • designing and redesigning courses/programs focused on student learning and success
  • investigating learning questions and problems through scholarly inquiry into teaching and learning
  • applying for UWL grants related to Faculty Development, Curricular Redesign, Lesson Study, and the Scholarship of Teaching & Learning

Stephanie helps instructors and staff with questions related to Canvas. Specifically, Stephanie can assist with: 

  • learning about and maximizing use of the different features in Canvas such as: creating assessments including assignments, discussions, and quizzes
  • setting up and testing features in Canvas such as Outcomes and Blueprint Courses 
  • editing, captioning, and sharing videos with Kaltura (My Media)
  • creating synchronous sessions in Collaborate Ultra and using the different features such as: whiteboard, file sharing and breakout rooms

She works with online and face-to-face instructors at any phase of the course design and delivery process—before teaching the course for the first time, while teaching a course, and after teaching a course. Please note that CATL's focus is on the improvement of teaching & learning. While we are unable to conduct evaluations of instructors for use in personnel decisions, we can share feedback to guide further improvement.
