UW-La Crosse continues to position itself among the country’s elite public universities. For more than a decade, UWL has consistently ranked as the state’s top public or private regional university, according to US News & World Report.
UWL is among an elite group of national universities that provide excellence in undergraduate research. The university was one of only 39 listed in US News & World Report’s "A Focus on Student Success" for undergraduate research and creative projects.
UWL offers much to western Wisconsin’s culture by hosting national conferences and prominent speakers.
The university’s motto — Mens Corpusque (Latin for "mind and body") — drives the institution. Faculty and staff are dedicated to the whole education of students, giving them an outstanding academic education, along with an appreciation for physical and emotional well-being.
