Brief biography
Ashley teaches dance in the Department of Theatre & Dance and advises the dance minor program. She is the director of choreography for the department produced dance concerts, Art in Motion, and is the resident choreographer for the musical theatre program. UWL musical credits include Cabaret, James and the Giant Peach, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Cinderella.
Much of Ashley's teaching philosophy is centered around breaking the stigma that dance has to be competitive. The media often portrays dance as an exclusive, toxic, cut-throat environment. But dance is for everyone. Dance can be a joyful experience without minimizing hard work and dedication.
