Brief biography

Dr. Denise Rueter is an Assistant Professor in Educational Studies at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (UWL). She earned her PhD in Curriculum and Instruction at Louisiana State University, focusing her research on teacher preparation in writing instruction. Prior to earning her PhD, Dr. Rueter worked in public schools for fifteen years serving as a classroom teacher, reading interventionist, and instructional coach.
