Brief biography

Dr. Gabrielle Strittmater is a faculty member in the PASHE undergraduate and PET graduate programs in the Department of Exercise & Sport Science. She prepares future physical and health educators to design meaningful, inclusive, and standards-based K–12 programs that promote lifelong physical activity and well-being. Dr. Strittmater teaches courses in foundations, assessment, and curriculum development, emphasizing alignment with national and state standards and equitable practices that support all learners. Her primary line of research focuses on meaningful physical education and teacher preparation. In addition, she collaborates on projects related to adapted physical education, school administrator support, and broader issues in physical education teacher education. She has presented her work nationally and internationally, including at conferences hosted by SHAPE America and AIESEP.
